I’m back this week with more sweet and fuzzy puppy content featuring Queso and Churro! Let’s kick things off with a cute video: what started as some gentle mutual gnawing turned into a mini Churro zoomie session, with him shooting through the tunnel like a pro.

Milestones & Mischief
Churro learned how to go down the stairs this week! He started off a bit tentative (as seen here), but by the end of the week, he was confidently tackling them.
Now that he’s mastered the stairs, he’s quicker to access the yard, where his favorite activities include hanging out on this rock and chewing all the mulch. 😂
Churro has also decided my lap is the ultimate cozy cuddling spot...
...but just as often, it’s a wrestling mat! I’m fascinated by how aware both dogs are during these rowdy sessions. They know exactly where their teeth are, and I never get accidentally nibbled. (Intentional nibbles? Oh, I get plenty of those when it’s just Churro and me playing!)
Their favorite game? Bitey-face! I have no idea what the rules or goals are, but they’re definitely pros at it. 🐶
Training & Challenges
This week, Churro’s training took a bit of a backseat after we found out he has giardia. 😭 His medication is a powder sprinkled on kibble, so we had to adjust our training approach. Instead of using every meal for training, we fed him breakfast all at once and introduced some impulse control exercises - like not rushing the bowl when it’s set down. Let’s just say he was not a fan. LOL.
We also started working on “place” and “off” commands. Plus, we took a trip to a local park where Churro experienced new surfaces and watched passing cars. He even took a tumble off a boulder (oops!) but climbed right back up, ready for more training.
Churro also continued his role as “kitchen helper.” He’s taken to stealing the dish towel whenever we absentmindedly hang it back up and proudly reports for duty as associate dish-licker multiple times a day. He hasn’t quite figured out that morning dishwashers are clean and off-limits!
Photography Fun
This is a photography page, after all! Here’s a recent portrait of Queso and Churro on a bridge:
And for those who love behind-the-scenes shots, here’s how it came together (with both dogs safely on-leash):
Of course, Churro’s creativity knows no bounds. While he found an appropriate chew toy here...
...standing on the end table is definitely not an approved puppy pastime. 🤣
Snow Adventures
Winter continues to deliver with cold temps and plenty of snow! Churro got to meet the snow blower this week and handled the loud, noisy contraption like a champ.
Afterwards, he and Queso had a blast playing in the fresh powder.
Puppy Hygiene
Churro had his first official teeth-brushing this week! It was more of a chompy-chewy experience than actual brushing, but he watched closely as Queso went first and seemed eager to follow his lead.
Brotherly Moments
Queso seems a bit miffed that we’ve “rented out” his crate, so he sneaks in for some solo snoozes during the day. 🥰
But at night, after Churro has exhausted all his bitey gremlin energy, Queso lets him snuggle in close.
I’ll wrap up this week with a classic 15-second clip of pure puppy-ness.
